PNP Tuguegarao flags down drug individual at COVID-19 Checkpoint

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Authorities manning a COVID-19 checkpoint in Barangay Namabbalan flagged down an alleged drug individual on June 11, 2020.
According to police report, the suspect was identified as Yves Emmanuel, a 24-year old male suspected to be a drug individual.
Authorities say that the suspect was stopped at the check point for inquiry. While the inquiry is being conducted, the suspect accelerated his motorcycle, but the police grabbed and dragged the suspect to the floor.
Subsequently, the suspect drew a short firearm which prompted the authorities to shoot.
The suspect sustained a gun shot wound to the right side of his body.
Meanwhile, recovered in the scene were a piece of paper containing dried leaves suspected to be Marijuana, a .38 revolver, an iPhone, a sling bag, a Suzuki motorcycle, one pack robust and an improvised tooter.
The suspect was then rushed to the hospital. As of this morning, Dr. Glenn Baggao reported that the suspect is now stable. TNF
