TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised tropical cyclone warning signal number 1 in all provinces in Cagayan Valley region as Typhoon Rosita moves closer to landmass.
The provinces of Isabela, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Batanes, and 17 other areas have all been placed under storm warning roughly two days before Rosita’s expected landfall over Isabela-Aurora area on Tuesday, October 30.
In its weather bulletin issued 11 pm on Sunday, October 28, state weather bureau PAGASA said Rosita has slightly weakened.
It is now packing maximum sustained winds of up to 180 kph near the center, with a gustiness of up to 220 kph.
The center of Typhoon Rosita eye was last located at 645 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. It is moving west at 20 kph.
Residents in northern Luzon are urged to take precautionary measures against impacts of very strong winds and heavy rainfall.
PAGASA said the rainfall is expected to range from moderate to heavy in the typhoon’s 800 kilometer (km) diameter. Northernforum.net
