TUGUEGARAO CITY – Cagayan Valley Cops are actively distributing assistance to front liners battling Coronavirus disease 2019 (CoVid-19).
Commander of the Valley cops Police Brigadier General Angelito Casimiro said that the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) purchased almost P75,000.00 worth of relief goods and medical supplies including sacks of rice, assorted canned goods, sardines, noodles, coffee, biscuits, Zonrox, knap sack power spray, pressure water pump, triple A batteries, surgical gloves, duct tape, and garbage bags.
Casimiro added that the items were distributed to the Newly Appointed Commissioned Officers (NAPCOS) and Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) graduates who will augment the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) manning the established Enhanced Community Quarantine Checkpoints in different cities and municipalities in Region 2.
Yesterday, March 23, 2020, medical supplies consisting of 75 test kits, 10,000 masks, 5,000 gloves and 50 thermal scanners were donated by the private sector to PRO2.
Meanwhile, Casimiro said that the endeavour aims to boost the morale and to give the PNP personnel and other front liners who are mobilized to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“This is to ensure the safety of every constituent in the region”, he added.
Moreover, the Regional Health Service 2 Chief Lt. Colonel Cleto Manongas, continuously conducts inspection and monitoring while providing medical assistance to ensure the health and safety of the PNP front liners who are exposed in the streets.
