The Local Government of Tuguegarao City has allowed senior citizens who are actively working or managing businesses and also working residents aging 18-20 years old to go outside their residences during the enforcement of General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
City Mayor Atty. Jefferson P. Soriano said that these people need to work for themselves. “We should not put these people under house arrest. Alam po namin kailangan din nila magtrabaho kaya binibigyan naming sila ng exceptions upang makapagtrabaho,” he added.
However, their company IDs will serve as their CoVid passes if they have work to attend to.
In addition, they are also encouraged to buy their needs when already outside to maximize time and minimize exposure to their families at home.
Meanwhile, Soriano explained that if they have pre-existing health conditions, the seniors are urged to stay at home.
“Seeking medical check-ups and other procedures will also be allowed as well as buying food, medicine and asking for government assistance,” he said.
On the other hand, for government employees, their employee IDs will already serve as their CoVid passes provided they wear it at any given time during weekdays but during weekends they are required to get resident passes if they need to go outside.
Furthermore, he also said that if there is an emergency matter, all protocols are considered waived.
