Luis ‘Chavit’ Singson, Mayor of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur teased a business partnership opportunity with Tuguegarao City Mayor Jefferson Soriano on Tuesday during the launching of Singson’s bus company in the city.
Singson’s Partas Transportation Company received its franchise to operate in the Sta. Teresita-Tuguegarao route from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on February 18, and pitched another business venture with the local government unit of Tuguegarao City.
Known as the glass fiber-reinforced polymer rebars, it is a building material that will soon be available in Ilocos Sur, Singson said during the press conference.
“This fiberglass rebar is three times stronger than steel, six times lighter than steel, and 30 percent cheaper than steel”, he added, seeing Tuguegarao City as a possible site for a factory plant for the fiberglass.
In his hometown, the main factory plant will offer 20,000 up to 25,000 job opportunities to his constituents, and now eyes a second factory plant in the city.
“We are here to serve and not to compete,’ the Narvacan Mayor said during the launching of his transport company
He said he sees a vast opportunity for partnership not only in the transport business but other businesses which can bring development not only to Tuguegarao but the entire Cagayan province.
