Tuguegarao City – Cagayan Valley will soon open its first Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Molecular Laboratory in Ilagan, Isabela to expand the testing capacity for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The Molecular Laboratory will be under the management of PRC Isabela chapter in region 2.
Officials of the PRC – Isabela chapter have laid cornerstone for the molecular laboratory building located inside the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council complex last August 29.
For the site of the laboratory, Gov. Rodolfo Albano III donated a lot and a building while Senator and PRC Chairman Richard Gordon donated the equipment to be used in the molecular laboratory.
The laboratory will be located inside Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council complex.
Aside from being a COVID-19 testing facility, Albano said the laboratory will also be instrumental to provide the needed blood requirement in the province.
He said the facility will also be useful during disaster relief operations in cases of emergencies and calamities that will hit the province. TNF
