
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A tricycle driver and a waiter were arrested in separate drug bust operations in Cagayan this weekend.
Police nabbed trike driver Velmor Cabalza, 37, in a buy-bust operation in Linao East, this city on Saturday, May 26.
In his report to Cagayan Valley Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, Cagayan Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Warren Gaspar Tolito said Cabalza attempted to sell a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to one of the members of the Intelligence Operatives of this city’s police.
Authorities also confiscated from the suspect the P1000 marked money, his cellular phone and motorcycle.
Cabalza is a resident of Atulayan Norte, city police said.
Later that afternoon, police also nabbed waiter John Paul Pablico, 28, in Centro 2, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.
Pablico was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police officer who acted as buyer, for P500.
The suspect is a native of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, police said.
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 has been filed against the suspects, regional police information office said.
Meanwhile, Espino credited the arrest of the said suspects to the police’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region. Northernforum.net
