TUGUEGARAO CITY, PHILIPPINES- The operatives of the Cagayan Provincial Police Officer (CPPO) arrested four drug pushers in separate drug buy bust operations late Tuesday afternoon here.
CPPO provincial director PSSupt. Warren Tolito said three of the four suspects were considered high-value targets being government employees.
Tolito said the first to fall was Nestor Obispo y Acang, 48, of Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Magacan, Sanchez Mira in Cagayan. The suspect was arrested during a buy-bust operation by Sanchez Mira police on Tuesday.
Police confiscated from Obispo two plastic sachets, which contain crystalline substance believed to be the illegal drugs metamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as “shabu”, a PHP500 marked money and PHP1000 boodle money used in the buy-bust operation.
Next to fall was Ariel Blanco y Tabbu, 32, also a Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi in Solana, Cagayan. Blanco was arrested by elements of the Solana Police during a buy-bust operation at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Police found two plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” and PHP1,000 buy-bust marked money.
Operatives from the Iguig police station arrested Miguel Pingad Jr y Jose, 48 years old, and a municipal traffic enforcer, during a buy-bust operation around 7:00 a.m. at Barangay Malabbac, Iguig also in Cagayan Tuesday morning. He yielded one heat-sealed plastic sachet with white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu.” Also recovered was the PHP1,000 markedt money.
In Pamplona, police apprehended Shelwin Ifurung y Pasis, 39 years old, during buy-bust operation at around 3:30 p.m. in Barangay Balingit, Pamplona, on Tuesday. Police recovered one plastic sachet believed to be “shabu.” Ifurung is known as one of the notorious street-level pushers in the locality.
“The arrests Tuesday show that your regional police force will never tire in serving the people of Cagayan Valley. We will continue our campaign against all forms of criminality especially against the scourge of illegal drugs,” Tolito said. PNA
