Loud Pink: Leni-Kiko supporters in Cagayan, Isabela join nationwide caravan

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The color ‘pink’ has flooded the streets of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on Saturday morning, Oct 23, as hundreds of supporters of Presidential aspirant VP Leni Robrebo and Vice Presidential hopeful Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan have conducted a motorcade joining the loud simultaneous national caravan.

People from all walks of life hailing from the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan have gathered in their private cars early on Saturday in a meeting point at Barangay Namabbalan in Tuguegarao where they started storming all streets of the key city all morning.

Over 80 vehicles as well as other random cars tagged along the way cruising highways with the aid of the Tuguegarao City’s Traffic Management Group as well as some police officers who ensured social distancing and safety of the event.

A local group called Cagayan Initiative for Leni and Kiko (CILK) spearheaded the sound off to express their support for the tandem in the coming 2022 elections.

Bystanders have reported supporters from the motorcade yelling “Let Leni Lead!!” as they drove around town with loud pink tarpaulin signages, balloons and ribbons.

The motorcade ended at the St. Peter’s and Paul Metropolitan Cathedral located in the heart of the city where they briefly continued their chants of “Leni!” and “Let Leni Lead!” among others until its end at noontime.

CILK members told the media after the motorcade that “they wish to support the tandem in the name of positivity, and wishes to educate the people for what’s best for them in the future, as the country is now in severe turmoil from the pandemic and extreme weather.”

Meanwhile, other towns in Cagayan such as Aparri and Alcala also had their motorcades to join the simultaneous caravan in support of the Leni-Kiko tandem.
