TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- Isabela Police Provincial Office conducted the 1st ever Provincial Tokhang Responders Drug Summit which was participated by 3,024 participants held in Community Center, Ilagan City, Isabela on August 29, 2019.
During the opening, Hon. Rodolfo T Albano III, Governor, Province of Isabela said that his office is willing to assist the Tokhang Responders through Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD program with additional cooperative fund coming from the provincial government. “I am glad that you voluntarily submit to the call of government to end the drug menace in the country”, he added.
Cagayan Valley Police Regional Director PBGEN Jose Mario M Espino emphasized the importance of drug summit in bringing together all the tokhang responders here in Isabela purposely to account them and to educate them on the ill-effects of illegal drugs.
PCOL Merwin A. Cuarteros, Chief, Regional Community Affairs and Development Division also gave lectures on the accomplishments on the Community Based Recovery and Wellness Program from July 2016 up to present.
Furthermore, lecturers from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and DOLE discussed on the Skills training and livelihood program for the tokhang responders while lecturer form Department of Health tackled on Oplan SAGIP. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency discussed on the provisions of RA 9165, while Lecturer from Department of the Interior Local Government discussed the role of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) in Barangay Drug Clearing Program. Representatives from National Intelligence Coordinating Agencydiscussed the relevance of EO 70 – National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
The said activity was participated by 2,382 Tokhang Responders (TRs), 642 members of BADAC, 18 employees from the Provincial Government of Isabela, representatives of the Local Chief Executives of the different Municipalities of Isabela, representatives from the religious sector, media practitioners, academe and members of Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD). |northernforum.net|
