The compilation album represents a pivotal moment in the Eagles’ career, showcasing their country roots. While their legendary albums like Hotel California and The Long Run followed in the years thereafter, respectively released in 1976 and 1979, it is this collection that has dominated sales. Currently, it boasts six more platinum discs than Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller, which last updated its count in 2021, totaling 34 in the United States alone.
