The Northern Forum Trivia (on a personal note)
1. Ma. Belen Barias Lim, Publisher of The Northern Forum, when she received the invitation from Lopez Jaena journalism training years ago told me, “You go” and not ” You stay,” TWICE.
Then, a third invitation and the fourth and the fifth came and I told Bel, “They go”; the younger editors/reporters of the Forum.
2. “Conversations With Blackie” on socmed was in fact, a take off from ‘DOS PARES’ column I wrote for The Forum two decades ago.
3. While I wasn’t looking, the publisher checks on every grammar and spelling of my articles before publication, years ago.
4. Like all local newspapers in the country, publications get delayed for weeks, at times, months in the past.
5. The first magazine supplement of the Forum came off February 2018, courtesy of the Municipality of Sta. Teresita, Cagayan.
6. The Municipality of Piat came in as the second municipality to avail of the publication this July 2, 2019.
7. Time was when the Philippine News Agency provided ALL news and features year in and year out, courtesy of then-PNA Tuguegarao Bureau Chief Purita Licas.
8. The Northern Forum’s contribution to the Ibanag/Itawit languages preservation efforts is in the form of a column titled , TALATTO.
9. There are three “Northern” newspapers in active publications in Tuguegarao City alone; NORTHERN FORUM, NORTHERN POST and NORTHERN DIGEST.
10. To his credit, former EIC Raymon Dullana paved the way for the FORUM to go online.
