TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A 52-year old woman died after being hit by a car in Barangay Calantac, Alcala, Cagayan on Tuesday, January 16.
Police said the victim, Estrella Buco, was walking on the sidewalk when a Kia Sorento driven by retired policeman Rodolfo Corres, 74, hit her.
Corres was on his way to Baggao town, police said.
The victim was thrown down the road for more or less two meters while Corres’ car bumped a hand tractor or kuliglig.
Buco was rushed to Doctor Ronald Guzman Medical Center, this city, but died later.
The victim’s family decided not to file a case after the suspect driver asked for an apology. Corres also promised to shoulder all burial and other expenses of Buco. Northernforum.net
