‘Floating Cocaine’ worth 6M found on Isabela waters

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Instead of their usual catch, fishermen from Sitio Dituwangan, Barangay Bicobian in Divilacan, Isabela found cocaine worth six million pesos floating on their shorline, according to the Philippine National Police Regional Office 02. (PRO2).

Just this morning, the fishermen turned over to authorities a black plastic wrapped in black rubberized bag with brown packaging tape with that would later be confirmed as cocaine by a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency officer after an examination.

As of now, authorities are still investigating the case and are yet to release a statement as to where the cocaine came from.

PRO2 Director Brigadier General Angelito Casimiro on a press release, said that this proves that there is a good partnership of the community with the police.

The new director also reminded everyone to still be vigilant and work hand in hand with the police for the campaign against illegal drugs.

On the other hand, PRO2 said that their last recorded case of ‘floating cocaine’ in the region was on February 2018 where authorities estimated its worth to 79 million pesos.

Eighteen plastic bags of cocaine tightly packed on a blue container found by fishermen also on the same municipality but on the shoreline of Barangay Dipulo.
