Cagayan journalist gets sued for grave oral defamation

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Cagayan State University President Urdujah Tejada filed a case against a local journalist for Grave Oral Defamation on July 14, 2020.

President Tejada said that she filed a case in the city prosecutor’s office against Rogelio Gerona, a local broadcaster and a commentator.

She said that the journalist attacked her through a radio program wherein she was orally defamed. “Puro paninirang puri lamang ang kanyang pinagsasabi sa kaniyang programa na walang basehan. Hindi maganda na tularan itong ganitong paninira,” she said.

She also said that the journalist who attacked her has no track record based on her research.

“Mahirap talagang i-postpone or i-delay ang pag file ng kaso dahil hindi maganda ang sinabi niya,” Tejada said.

Meanwhile, Tejada stands that her name should be cleared in court.

Furthermore, she said that the journalist accused her of having issues.

“Sinasabi niya na may kaso daw ako. Anong kaso ko? Edi sana hindi ako nakakuha ng mga clearance sa NBI, Sandigan bayan at Civil Service Commission,” she said.

On the other hand, Gerona declined to give a comment. Comment will be released once he receives the subpoena. TNF
