Human head found on riverbank in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- (UPDATED) A head of a man was found on the riverbank of Barangay Dacal-la Fugu, Camalaniugan, Cagayan on Friday, September 1.

Camalaniugan Police were informed of the recovered head on Friday afternoon. It also had a hacked wound on the head.

Christine Bañada who uploaded photos of the recovered head on Facebook said that their neighbor, while collecting wood, found the head floating near the side of the river.

Police would later identify the victim as 72-year old Dominador Takot of Barangay San Antonio, Delfin Alabano, Isabela.

In an interview with PO3 Paul Jeric M Balisi of Camalaniugan Police, Takot’s limbs and other body parts were earlier found in Barangay San Juan in Delfin Albano. He was reported missing on Wednesday, August 30. Investigators are looking at a land dispute as a possible angle for the crime.

The Municipal Health Office (MHO) conducted a post-mortem examination on the head. Doctor Desireeh Gracia Casauay- Bulauitan said that it was already in the advanced decay stage, the second to the last stage of decomposition.

The recovered head was claimed by Takot’s relatives on Saturday, September 2, police said. Northernforum.net
