TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- With the theme “Creating Educational Pathways in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Saint Paul University of the Philippines (SPUP) holds its 4th International Interdisciplinary Research Conference on December 12.
Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, President of SPUP said on her speech that the conference is the product of gatherings of experts, scholars and research enthusiasts. “We create educational pathways for the 4th industrial revolution. To flourish economy, industry and other aspects of life”, Sr. Ang added.
Sr. Ang also said that this is to shape the comprehensive system in a collaborative way in order to transform life to be better in promoting quality life and work.
The conference aims to generate, create new knowledge, perspective, solutions and learning that could shape a better tomorrow. “Creating educational pathways, global citizenship, breakthroughs, sustainable development and goals in 2030”, Sr. Ang said.
Meanwhile, Atty. Lily Freida Milla, deputy executive director for international affairs of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said that the conference addressed the 4.0 issues industrial revolution. “This is in response to the rapid industrial revolution of education”, she added.
She also said that this is particularly important for peace studies which not only focuses on intercultural studies but also to interreligions. 4.0 is a combination of internet and computers which are able to make decisions without the human intervention. Furthermore, higher education becomes more relevant to give solutions to the upcoming industrial revolution. Delegates were from Southeast Asia like Japan, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Nigeria.
