TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 35-year old mother was charged for killing her own 3 children in their house in Isabela province Thursday morning, March 2.
In a phone interview on Friday, March 3, Senior Inspector Randy Cabbadu, Burgos town police chief, identified the suspect as certain Marilyn Foronda.
Foronda was supposed to kill all her four children, but her 7-year old daughter Casidy fought back and escaped her death, Cabaddu said.
“Obviously, Casidy was able to escape because she was able to. Unfortunately, her younger siblings couldn’t fight back,” Cabaddu told Forum in Filipino.
Cabaddu said Casidy rushed to their neighbor to call for help, but it was already too late.
Cabaddu said responding police found Foronda’s 3 children: 3-year old Adam Mcqueen; 2 year-old Stephen Dane and 3-month old Shiansha Sarah, on their bed already lifeless. Foronda was reportedly “hysterical” that time.
The in-laws of Foronda has already observed last February that something was wrong with her, according to Cabaddu.
That time, her youngest was only two months old. Her husband is working as a seaman.
“She was already seen with signs of abnormalities last month. They thought that it was only an effect of her labor,” Cabaddu said, adding that her pregnancy might have affected emotional hormones.
Foronda is now facing multiple parricide charges and is now being prepared for inquest.
Cabaddu said the suspect has already regained her consciousness and expressed regret for the killing.
“She said she deeply regretted her crime. SheI said she was not able to fight back the evil that was telling her to kill her children,” Cabaddu said. Northernforum.net
