
Tuguegarao City – Since the non-stop rain and the series of typhoons last November to mid December 2019, the effects of the flooding in Cagayan Valley have left plenty of the residents of Pamplona, Allacapan, Sta. Praxedes, Claveria, Amulung, Alcala and some eastern parts of Tuguegarao City still devastated during the Christmas season.
A group of doctors, businessmen and members of the St. Peter’s Cathedral’s Parish Center have given a lot to put together one of the biggest outreach programs for the affected towns. It wasn’t long until the Universal Robina Corporation extended their help in providing a nifty amount of their famous Refresh bottled water, Payless Instant Mami, Nissin Cup Noodles and Jack’n’Jill snacks to the affected flood victims.
According to The Northern Forum Cagayan Valley’s field reporters during the holiday season, plenty of the affected barangay residents were very happy to have received all these relief goods from the concerned parties. Until today, the outreach program including The Northern Forum Cagayan Valley is still sending the last of the relief goods every weekend to each affected area. As of now, 85% of the roads are passable and 70% damaged infrastructure have already recovered and are back to normal.
