Police officer reported for ‘verbally assaulting’ CAVRAA referee

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A police officer assigned at the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) was reported for verbally assaulting an officiating official of the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet on Sunday, February 25.

In a report, the Cagayan police identified the suspect as PO3 Pedro Attaban Jr, a resident of Tuguegarao City, and the victim as certain Angelo Pabon, 29, and a resident of Cauayan City.

Attaban reportedly approached the victim, who was then officiating a volleyball match between Tuguegarao and Nueva Vizcaya, in Cataggaman Nuevo Gymnasium.

Tuguegarao police said they had assisted the victim in preparing necessary documents  in filing the case.

The victim, however, did not pursue the charges after Attaban expressed his “sincere” apology. Northernforum.net
