Cagayan leads partial medal tally of CAVRAA Meet 2018

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan province topped the partial official medal tally of the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet 2018 as of 10 am on Tuesday, 27 February.

Cagayan showed might over other 8 schools division by garnering 50 gold medals, 45 silver medals, and 61 bronze medals. The province was consistent in leading the medal tally since day 1.

Cagayan is defending its championship title last year, when it garnered 95 gold medals.

Nueva Vizcaya province, meanwhile, so far got 31 golds, 33 silvers, and 39 bronzes, which now placed second in tally.

Isabela province ranked third with 29 golds, 25 silvers, and 28 bronzes.

Tuguegarao raced to 4th place after getting 24 gold medals, 20 silvers medals, and 15 bronze medals. Tuguegarao has maintained good ranking this year after a poor performance last year when it placed 7th in the final medal tally.

Ilagan City and Santiago City placed 5th and 6th respectively. Ilagan so far garnered 18 golds, 20 silvers, and 17 bronzes, while Santiago City got 13 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals.

Quirino province placed 7th with 6 golds, 11 silvers, and 20 bronzes.

Meanwhile, Batanes and Cauayan City both ranked 7th, garnering 3 gold medals each.

Sports officials said the partial medal tally as of Tuesday would still not define the final ranking of CAVRAA Meet, as many championship games are still being held. Northernforum.net
