Police nabs two car nappers in Quezon, Isabela

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines– Police arrested two suspects of motorcycle theft in Barangay Abut, Quezon, Isabela on Wednesday morning, August 2.

They were identified as Daryll Layugan Barila, 20, and Rico Banya-ao Palas, 18; and both from Tabuk City, Kalinga. Quezon Police also recovered the Honda XRM 125 motorcycle owned by Doming Dapliyan, a 35-year old farmer.

Quezon Police Chief Loreto Infante said that at about 11:30 in the morning of the same day, Dapliyan, a resident of Abut in the town visited his farm. He was said to park his motorcycle on the side of the road opposite his farm.

The victim apparently left his motorcycle unlocked and unattended as he went to cut and uproot grasses in his farm. This was when the two suspects gained a chance to cart away Dapliyan’s motorcycle.

Dapliyan was able to notice that the two suspects stole and drove away his motorcycle, prompting him to call the local police. The police eventually arrested the suspects and recovered the stolen motorcycle.

The suspects were brought to Quezon Police Station. The two were readied for inquest for violating Republic Act 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972. Northernforum.net
