TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- The proposed budget for Cagayan province this 2020 has been cut of more than Php 300 million according to Cagayan Assistant Provincial Budget officer, Raynald Ramirez.
Ramirez said that this is because of the retained budget or savings of the provincial government from 2018 for the supplemental budget for 2019 which is Php 613 million. “In 2018, we have a retained budget or savings amounting Php 613 million but have been used as supplemental budget for 2019”, he added.
Meanwhile, the revenue receipts for this year increased by 10 percent or Php 2.85 billion compared to the Php 2.55 billion last 2019.
Ramirez also said that the retained budget or savings from 2019 will also be part of the supplemental budget for this year or 2021.
On the other hand, the Provincial Social Services and Welfare Development Office will have an increased in budget this year.
Provincial Development Planning Office Elisa Umoso said that the raised in the funds for social services department is due to the increased of senior citizens in the province that will receive Php 500 monthly.
Budget for the infrastructures remains as it continuous the Build! Build! Build! Program of the current administration.
