Tuguegarao City – Police Regional Office 2 together with the Land Transportation Office conducted a discussion with the legitimate motorcycle riders in Cagayan Valley yesterday January 20, 2020 in a press conference at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru in Tuguegarao City.
LTO 2 Administrative Officer Manual Baricaua reminded motorcycle riders on the memo issued by LTO regarding the prohibition and regulation of the use of certain LED or HID lights or lamps to avoid apprehension during enforcement operations.
These issues on the use of LED lights surfaced when motorcycle riders exceeded the parameters set by LTO last March 15, 2016 in a memo on the Rules and Regulations concerning motorcycle lights. Also raised were the prohibition of the modification of motorcycles and the role of motorcycle riders and clubs in preventing crime.
“Ipatitigil na muna natin ang paghuli sa mga violators habang nagsasagawa ang ating tropa ng malawakang information dissemination sa mga riders,” said Provincial Director Cagayan PPO, PCOL ARILE B QUILANG as PNP Cagayan will temporarily hold the implementation of the memorandum while the Highway Patrol Unit of Cagayan will join them in the extensive dissemination of information to the riders of Cagayan.
