Blackout in most parts of Cagayan Valley as Typhoon Rosita rages

CAGAYAN, Philippines-Power has been cut in most parts of Cagayan Valley region as early as Monday night, October 29.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said 6 transmission lines in Cagayan, Isabela, and Kalinga provinces are unavailable due to Typhoon Rosita.

In its advisory, NGCP said as of 5 am on Tuesday, 48% of power load is available in Isabela, while 55% is available in Cagayan province.

Here are the affected transmission lines:

  • Santiago-Cauayan 69kV Line
    Customer affected: ISELCO I

  • Gamu-Ilagan-Naguilian-Reina Mercedes 69kV Line
    Customer/s affected: ISELCO I & ISELCO II
    Date/Time Out: October 29/ 11:16 pm
  • Tuguegarao-Tabuk 69kV Line
    Customers Affected: CAGELCO I, KAELCO
    Date/Time Out: October 30/ 12:00 am
  • Tuguegarao-Cabagan 69kV Line
    Customers Affected: ISELCO II
    Date/Time Out: October 30/ 1:28 am
  • Magapit-Sta. Ana 69kV Line
    Customer Affected: CAGELCO
    Date/Time Out: October 30/ 12:00 am
  • Concepcion-Camiling 69kV Line
    Customer Affected: TARELCO
    Date/Time Out: October 30/ 3:31 am

NGCP said they will begin inspection and restoration efforts as soon as the stormy weather subsides. Northernforum.net
