CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela—The Social Security System (SSS) served warrant of arrest to delinquent SSS employers and/or non-compliant employers (SSS Oplan Tokhang Style) at Cauayan City, Isabela, November 19, 2018.
During the press briefing, Atty. Renato Cuisia, Vice President for Operations Legal Services department said that the SSS law or republic act 8282 Social Security Act of 1997, an act further strengthening the social security system thereby amending for this purpose, republic act no. 1161, as amended, otherwise known as the social security law.
Cuisia stated that the delinquent employers who keep on violating the law will not be tolerated which is why they are strictly implementing the law.
In addition, 65 delinquent employers were identified and two of them were served with warrant of arrest as of Nov. 19, 2018.
The remaining 63 are considered active with their case which is not needed to be arrested.
During the operation, the delinquent employer (Book Keeper) was not arrested because she was able to file a bail.
Atty. Vicente Sol Cuenca, Acting Department Manager II, Luzon North 2 Legal Department said that this will serve as a lesson to the non-compliant employers that they need to be fair with their employees as part of their legal obligations.
On the other hand, the second operation was that successful, the warrant of arrest was not served due to the absence of the target and/or non-compliant employer.
Cuisia said that they will keep on looking for the delinquent employer that was not arrested if he/she is hiding.
Cuenca said that the SSS law will keep and strongly be implemented to establish, develop, promote and perfect a sound and viable tax-exempt social security service suitable to the needs of the people throughout the Philippines
