Kalinga reports first case of COVID-19

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The province of Kalinga has reported its first Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case in the city of Tabuk yesterday, June 10, 2020.
According to the Local Health Board of Tabuk (LHBT), the patient was tagged as K-01, is a 30-year old displaced construction worker from Barangay Gobgob who arrived from Caloocan City on June 6, 2020 with his family.
LHBT also said that when the patient arrived at Tabuk, he was subjected to rapid testing at the holding area, where he was tested positive to IgG.
K-01 was reported to be asymptomatic. Afterwards, he was referred to the city isolation unit for swabbing and a 14-day mandatory quarantine. The specimen was sent to Baguio last June 8, 2020 and yielded a positive result.
Of the 24 passengers of Victory Liner Sweeper Bus No. 01, fourteen(14 ) are Tabukeños and 10 are from other municipalities. Patient K-01 together with his wife and his child is directed to proceed to the CIU because of the positive IgG result while the 11 Tabukeño co-passengers were referred to their respective Barangay Isolation Units (BIU).
Meanwhile, as part of our contact tracing measures, all healthworkers and LGU personnel present at Talaca checkpoint and triage area during that day including drivers who ferried them are now under strict isolation and monitoring.
The Local Government Unit reminds the public to stay at home and limit unnecessary travel outside residences. TNF
