TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – After almost one and a half months of no recorded cases in Cagayan, two new cases surfaced soon after the repatriated residents entered the province on June 10, 2020.
Chief of Local Health Support Division Dr. Leticia Cabrera said the 36th case is a 30-year-old male from Alcala town with travel history in Pasay City and arrived in the said town last June 8.
Cabrera said that he (patient) arrived and was subjected to a swab test which turned positive yesterday, June 10.
“He is asymptomatic”, Cabrera added.
As of last night, the patient was transferred to Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City.
On the other hand, the 37th case is a 21-year-old female from Lal-lo town who has a travel history in Cordon, Isabela.
According to DoH, she arrived in the said town last May 27.
The female patient has runny nose and when subjected to the swab test yesterday, she was confirmed positive.
According to CVMC Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, the patient is now under the care of their hospital.
The LGU of Tuguegarao together with local health officials, the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the PNP are now conducting contact tracing of the “close contacts” of the said additional COVID-19 positive patients.
Cabrera urged those who have “contact” with the patients to cooperate with the officials for a faster and easier contact tracing operation. TNF
