Tourism in Cag Val still on assessment for Covid-19 impact – DOTR02

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan-Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office 2 on February 24 said that the assessment on the impact of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Cagayan Valley region 2.
Chief Tourism Operations Officer Fanibeth Domingo said that their office is coordinating with all tourism offices in the region to assess the impact of Covid-19.
“Sa ngayon po inaantay naming ang initial assessment. Nakikipag-usap kami sa ibat’t-ibang ahensya upang alamin ang impact ng Covid-19 sa rehiyon”, she added.
Domingo also believes that the economical impact of Covid-19 in the region as regards to tourism has not affected its stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the conduct of festivals and other major activities in the region would be on the discretion of Local Government Unit.
“We support whatever the decision of the LGU in the conduct of their activities such as festivals and other celebrations”, she said.
