Tuguegarao streets empty after curfew implemented

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The streets in the city of Tuguegarao are almost empty after Mayor Atty. Jefferson P. Soriano declared a 24-hour curfew.

Following the declaration of “Enhanced Community Quarantine” over entire Luzon as preventive measures against the threat of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Soriano said that the local government unit together with the authorities will file a case for people violating the law.

In the Executive Order released by Soriano on March 17, residents shall not be allowed to leave their respective houses at any given time.

“One per household lang po ang pwedeng lumabas kapag bibili ng mga kailang gamit sa groceries at drugstores”, he added.

Soriano also said that no Back riding policy in motorcycles is strictly implemented to assure social distancing.

“Mag stay nalang po kayo sa bahay nyo kapag hindi naman importante ang gavawin ninyo sa labas”, he said.

Meanwhile, some reports say that other neighboring towns in the province of Cagayan has also adapted this measure.

Streets in major towns and town plazas are almost empty as it practice strict home quarantine.

As of now, in the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, there are 59 Persons Under Investigation (PUI).

LGUs asks for cooperation for health safety of all.
