TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – After 41 days of having no recorded cases, the Department of Health Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (DoH-CV-CHD) reported one positive case of Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on June 9, 2020.
DoH said that the patient is a 30-year old female who worked as a Domestic Helper (DH) in Dubai who went home last March 18 and underwent a full 14-day quarantine in Caloocan City.
The patient then went home to the municipality of Echague last June 4.
As part of the protocol in Cagayan Valley, DoH tested patients who came from areas with COVID-19 positive cases.
The patient is currently admitted at Echague District Hospital.
Meanwhile, contact tracing is now being done through the Regional Epidemiology and SurveillanceUnit (RESU).
“Patuloy parin po ang ating pagsisikap upang maprotektahanang ating sarili laban sa sakit na ito. Ang patuloy na kooperasyon sa atingpamahalaan ang susi sa sama-samang pagsugpo sa krisis na ating pinagdadaanan ngayon”, DoH officials said.
DoH also reminded the public to follow health protocols likewearing of facemasks, using hand sanitizers and washing of hands.The latest patient is recorded as the 35th COVID-19 positive in the region. TNF
