Cagayan quarry tax revenue reaches P60M

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Provincial Government of Cagayan has reportedly collected a revenue of around P60 million on quarry tax from January to August 2017.

In a press release from Cagayan Provincial Information Office on Thursday, August 31, the province has collected P4.8 million for the month of August.

This despite the heavy rainfall and frequent increase in water level in the province’s rivers this month, said the province’s Quarry Division Head Edwin Jesus Buendia, Jr. in the release.

He added that the frequent rise of water levels in rivers in Cagayan has greatly affected quarry operations in the province.

In July, the monthly quarry tax collection was reported to be P7.7 million. This was reportedly one of the province’s best revenue for quarry tax.

Buendia added that they will strictly monitor all quarry businesses and operations in the province. He again assured the public that his “Bantay Quarry Checkers” will be careful and strict in collecting quarry tax. Northernforum.net
