Vizcaya, Quirino storm signals lifted, #MaringPH makes landfall in Quezon,

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Tropical Depression Maring has made landfall over Mauban, Quezon and is now traversing Laguna-Manila area, the state weather bureau said in its 11am update on Tuesday, September 12 .

Storm Signal number 1 is raised in Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Northern Quezon including Polillo island, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Pangasinan, Laguna, and Southern Aurora.

Storm signals in Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino provinces have been lifted.

Maring, now at the vicinity of Metro Manila and moving west-northwest at 15 kph, has maximum sustained winds of 60 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said moderate to heavy rains will be experienced over Bicol region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Pangasinan. Residents of these areas are alerted against possible landslide and flashfloods.

The state weather bureau also said sea travel is risky over the esastern seaboards of Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol region.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Lannie has slowed down slightly as it continues moving west-northwest at 24 kph, PAGASA said. It was located 865 km east of Basco, Batanes, having maximum sustained winds of 120kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph. Northernforum.net
