TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Three suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) allegedly involved in a Quirino town attack have been filed with criminal charges on Tuesday, September 5.
A press release from the Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) stated that two counts of Robbery with Attempted Homicide, Serious Illegal Detention, and Attempted Murder have been filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Cabarroguis, Quirino against Rey Miguel Busania, Raul Paderogaya Merano, and Arnold Pandaan Jamias.
PRO2 believed the three apprehended suspects were among those involved in the attack on Maddela, Quirino Police Station on the night of April 29. The attack of a heavily armed NPA group of around 100 people wearing military camouflage uniforms resulted to the death of PO2 Jerome Luwi Cabasal Cardenas.
Police said the suspects carted away three loaded 9mm pistol and five loaded M16 Armalite Rifles issued to personnel of said Police Station. The attackers also took one set commo green uniform and two laptop units.
In the release, PRO2 Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery said that the three suspects were the newly identified based on the investigation and validation conducted by police.
“We want to assure that PRO2 is doing everything within its power to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Quenery said. Northernforum.net
