TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Governor Manuel Mamba and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 2 Director Emerson Rosales signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for a stricter and stronger drug clearing operations at the Cagayan Provincial Jail.
The signing of the MOA by the Cagayan governor and PDEA director was held at the Governor’s Pavillon, Capitol Compound last October 3.
Under the agreement, a stricter implementation of the Republic Act 9165 will be observed to eradicate all illegal drug trades not only in the Cagayan Provincial Jail but also in the Cagayan Capitol.
According to Director Rosales, their agency will continue to uphold their mandate in doing their part in the war against illegal drugs in the province especially in the Provincial Jail.
The PDEA director also promised that they will not stop until the provincial jail of Cagayan province attains a drug-cleared status.
Furthermore, Governor Mamba said that there will be more mandatory drug testing for the employees at the Capitol to erase corruption and guarantee good service to the people
“Kapag na-involve ang mga nasa gobyerno, magiging sindikato na ang mga ito at ayaw ko itong mangyari,” said Mamba. (When government employees get involved in illegal drugs, they will become syndicates which I don’t like to happen.)
