Mobile Talipapa, Free Meals in Quarantine Areas

Tuguegarao City – The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Camalaniugan has responded to the coronavirus pandemic by launching on ground and mobile talipapas to decongest the public market, and offering free and healthy meals for people in quarantine areas.

Stationed in every barangay in Camalaniugan, SK Talipapa was launched on March 30 to prevent residents from flocking to markets, SK Federation President Christian Ursua announced.

Residents are required to wear masks, and observe social distancing when visiting the talipapa. Officers also installed wash-up areas for buyers to observe health protocols.

As an additional feature of the SK Talipapa, they also initiated mobile talipapas that go around various barangays to provide residents easier access to basic goods amid the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.

They also offer a contactless transaction by allowing online purchase of vegetables, fruits, and fish, to be delivered by SK officers.

With the collaborative effort of the local officials, and private citizens of Camalaniugan, free meals are offered every day in 6 barangays: Bulala, Catotoran Norte, Catotoran Sur, Centro Norte, Cullit, and Sapping. However, the free meal program will temporarily cease on Thursday to Saturday, in celebration of the Holy week, and will resume on Sunday.

“All these are made possible, not just because of the SK Federation but with all 28 SK Chairpersons, Kagawads, and all youth volunteers, and donors. “Hinihingi namin ang patuloy nilang pagtulong sa mga programa natin. Lahat ng pasasalamat at paghangang nakukuha ng federation, iyon ay dahil sa tulong ng bawat isa.” SK Federation President Ursua said.
