TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- The new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police General Archie Francsisco Gamboa visited the home of the valley cops as his first official command visit together with his directorial staff on January 29, 2020.
During his visit, Gen. Gamboa graced the inaugurations of new facilities in Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2). “This shows full support of the headquarters to regional offices. With this, the PNP believes that it could execute its mandate with full potential”, he added.
One of the inaugurated facilities is the helipad for helicopter landing. Gamboa said that the arrival of 10 H-125 choppers to the Philippines will be on this April, but emphasized that PRO2 will not receive air assets or chopper.
“These choppers will be for Metro Manila to be used as sky patrols and at the same time as our training helicopters”, he added.
“Bibigyan ko ba ang Region 2 ng helicopter? Hindi ano, kasi it will be on per request basis but only if there’s a need. As a matter of fact nagrequest na ang Ilo-ilo, region 7, region 8. If there is a need pwede naming ipahiram yun, as long as maypaggagamitan like major operations like air ambulance and disasters”, Gamboa promised.
Will I give region 2 a helicopter? No, because it will be on per request basis if there is a need. As a matter of fact, Ilo-ilo, region 7 and region 8 have requested. If there is a need, we will lend, as long there are major operations such as disasters and to be used as air ambulance.
Meanwhile, Gamboa was glad for the performance of the valley cops, “We have assessments for this kinds of matter”, he said.
“In fact, Regional Director Casimiro has received two consecutive awards on Individual Commander’s Evaluation Rating”, he added.
