TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines– Police have launched hunt operation on one of the six prisoners who escape a detention cell in Nueva Vizcaya on Tuesday, December 21.
In a report, Police Chief Inspector Leonardo Obispo of Bambang town police station said Michael Okia remains at large while his five companions have been brought back to detention.
Okia was with Giovanni Magday, 30; John Alfaro, 20; Edgardo Lopez, 21; Joven Alueco, 22 and Diosdado Iniego, 31, when they escaped from prison.
Magday, Alfaro, Alueco and Lopez voluntary surrendered while Iniego was arrested.
Police investigators said a visitor might have secretly given them a metal saw.
The inmates reportedly destroyed ventilation of their cell to escape.
Jail guards said they did not hear the prisoners destroying the ventilation because they were too far. -Northernforum.net
