TUGUEGARAO CITY, PHILIPPINES- Suspected members of the communist guerrilla attack a police station in Amulung, Cagayan late Thursday afternoon, May 4, reports said.

In a Facebook post, the official information portal of the Cagayan provincial government said some suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) raided the Amulung town sub-police station in Barangay Annafatan around 6 pm on Thursday.

The NPA rebels reportedly disarmed the polices on duty and took high-caliber guns with them. They also reportedly took the police mobile patrol, but have since been recovered in Barangay Pacac.

Police Superintendent Chevalier Iringan, police information officer of the Cagayan Valley regional police unit, confirmed the attack to uniformed police but had yet to give more details. Northernforum.net
