TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Four passengers died when their boat carrying 57 passengers tipped over due to strong winds and waves brought by Typhoon Gorio in Palanan, Isabela on Friday night, July 28.
The body of Ronald Silva, the fourth casualty of the incident, was retrieved at around 2:30 pm on Monday, July 31, Palanan police chief Senior Inspector Mariano Manalo said.
Manalo said Silva’s remains have been brought to Cauayan City for autopsy on Tuesday, August 1.
The police recovered three bodies on the day after the boat capsized. They were identified as Joel Tuppil of Cauayan City; Dimasalang Valenzuela; and Mylene Silva of Bataan, Ronald’s wife.
Palanan police reported the the vessel was bound to Dilasag, Aurora from Culasi port in Palanan.
Meanwhile, all survivors have already been flown to Cauayan yesterday.
Manalo said the passengers are members of Iglesia Ni Cristo who attended an inauguration of their new church in the area.
He said they are still conducting further investigation and will wait for the autopsy reports of the four casualties. Northernforum.net
