The Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD) confirmed on Sunday, March 29 that the total COVID-19 cases in Region 02 is now at 14, five of which are linked to PH275.
PH275 is Region 02’s first confirmed case and still in quarantine and recovering at Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC). His test results was announced by CVCHD acting director Leticia Cabrera on March 21.
Five confirmed cases have been announced since then to be related to PH275, four are health workers from CVMC, and the patient’s mother.
The health workers who got infected were the first ones who attended to PH275 when he was admitted at the hospital.
According to Cabrera, the health department along with the local government units are continuously monitoring the all of the patient’s health conditions and are doing contact tracing.
In Cagayan alone, there are eight confirmed cases, five from Tuguegarao City, one in Tuao, one in Gattaran, and one in Lal-lo.
Isabela on the other hand has four cases, three from Alicia, and one from Echague.
The first fatality in the region was recorded at Solano town in Nueva Vizcaya, and the second case in the province have been confirmed this morning in Bayombong.
