TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Department of Health (DoH) Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development confirmed eight (8) new cases of Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) this afternoon June 27, 2020.
According to the data released by DoH, there are already 75 confirmed cases in the region. first case is CV68, a 48 year-old male from Ramon, Isabela who has a travel history from Santiago City and Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The second case is CV69, a 44 year-old male Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Riyadh, Saudi, Arabia who declareed minor symptoms like dryness of the throat. Health authorities said that the patient arrived in his home town in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, last June 23 and was immediately quarantined after testing positive and is now under the care of the local government unit.
The third reported case today is CV70, also asymptomatic and is from Enrile, Cagayan. The patient is a 27 year-old male who has a travel history from Antipolo, Rizal. Health authorities said that the patient arrived last June 23 and was also immediately quarantined under the care of the LGU.
In Lal-lo town in Cagayan province, CV71 is a 24 year-old female said to have travel from Pasay City, and arrived in the town last June 24. Authorities have reported that CV71 is pregnant, asymptomatic and she was also brought to a quarantine facility immediately upon arrival under the care of the local government unit.
Moreover, CV72 is a 33 year-old female OFW who worked in Kuwait and is from Quezon, Isabela. Also asymptomatic, upon arrival she was quarantined to a facility in Echague last June 23.
In Lasam, Cagayan, CV73, also an OFW from Saudi Arabia, a male 32 years of age who arrived in the town was immediately quarantined last June 23. CV73 is asymptomatic and is under the care of the LGU.
In Tumaini, Isabela, an OFW from Dubai arrived in the town and was immediately quarantined in Echague on June 20. The said patient is CV74, an asymptomatic 26 year-old female who is now under observation.
The last confirmed patient is CV75, a resident of Quezon, Isabela, a 56 year-old female who has a travel history history from Malabon City. She arrived last June 22 and was immediately transferred to Quezon Isabela Community Hospital for consultation.
Health authorities, Philippine National Police, Local Government Units and Department of the Interior Local Government are now conducting thorough contact tracing.
DoH reiterated to the public to cooperate with the authorities to lessen the spread of the virus.
