TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- An employee of Iguig town’s local government unit (LGU) was gunned down by a riding-in-tandem here on Tuesday night, December 20.
Police named the victim Dexter John Malana Pedralvez, 36 year-old, married and a resident of Barangay Andarayan, Solana, Cagayan.
Based on initial investigations, Police said Pedralvez was riding his motorcycle on his way home after attending a Christmas party when two unknown assailants fired shots on him at Barangay Linao Norte here.
Responding teams found Pedralvez’s already bloody body beside his motorcycle.
Police said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in his head and body, causing his immediate death.
Residents near the crime scene said they heard six consecutive gunshots before discovering Pedralvez dead body.
Police have now launched further investigation on possible lead in the new killing incident in the city.
Records showed that the recent killing was fifth since October this year. All were perpetuated by riding-in-tandem killers.
Earlier last week, two men were also shot dead by motorcycle riding-in-tandem in separate incidents at barangays Carig Sur and Pengue Ruyu.
Police said they are now doing investigations on the possible links of these killings to illegal drugs. -Julius Catulin/Northernforum.net
