Isabela distributes palay seeds to typhoon-hit farmers

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — After the restoration efforts led by the provincial government of Isabela and Department of Education (DepEd) – Isabela to the typhoon-destroyed school buildings dubbed as Brigada Eskuwela, the provincial government of will continue its rehabilitation efforts, this time, to typhoon-affected farmers.

Lawyer Noel Manuel Lopez, provincial administrator of LGU – Isabela, said that the provincial government will start the distribution of palay seeds to the affected farmers on Thursday in the province’s first and second districts

Lopez said the distribution of palay seeds in the third and fourth districts, on the other hand, will be conducted next week.

He said the palay seeds is a form of assistance of the provincial government to the farmers whose crops were destroyed by the recent super tyhoon Lawin.

Lopez said that while waiting for the arrival of national government’s assistance specifically the Department of Agriculture, the provincial government will start now using the fund allotted for the purchase of palay seeds.

He said the provincial government may give fertilizers to the farmers who have already planted rice as a form of assistance. PNA – Northernforum.net
