TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A 19-year old motorcycle rider died after colliding with a vehicle along National Highway, Sitio Tururayok, Abian, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Bambang Police identified the casualty as Benjuer Marc Elizaga Paddit from Barangay Malasin, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya.
Police said he was riding his red motorcycle when a Mitsubishi Montero Sport driven by a 53-year old businessman Amer Lindangan Mandangan hit him. Mandangan is a native of Basak, Bayaba, Marawi City but is residing in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Police stated that Paddit encroached the opposite lane and later collided with the front portion of the Montero. The rider sustained injuries on different parts of his body. He was rushed to Veterans Regional Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Both vehicles were brought to Bambang Police Station for further investigation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, a 32-year old service crew from Barangay Tuao North, Bagabag was shot several times by unidentified gunmen in Baretbet, Bagabag on Wednesday morning, October 11.
Police identified the victim as Giovanni Parotina Alava. Alava was said to be drinking with his friends when a white vehicle approached them.
Bagabag Police said an unidentified suspect came out of the vehicle and shot the group several times, hitting the victim on the head while the others ran for cover inside the house. The suspect fled immediately.
Alava was brought to PLT Hospital in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya but later on, transferred to Veterans Regional Hospital in Bayombong.
