TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- The provincial government here, through its tourism office, is now calling for entries for its much-anticipated photo competition.
Karen Moreno, program coordinator, said the photo contest aims to promote Cagayanos’ traditional way of life, cultural practices, beliefs, among others.
Moreno urged all amateur and professional photographers to join the competition and take a part in the promotion of local tourism.
She said the competition is open to all Cagayanos regardless of age.
“Photos taken in 2016 onwards are eligible to become entries,” Moreno said but entries must adhere to the competition’s theme.
She said photo entries must feature any of the categories namely, customs and traditions, festivals, people of human interest or scenes from everyday life, mountaineering, caving and other activities; food and delicacies; nature like exquisite flora and fauna found only in Cagayan, landscapers, forest, caves, beaches, falls, rivers and lagoons.
Moreno said the pictures may also focus on structures and landmarks, churches and churches’ ruins, heritage sites, architectural spots and Northern Islands to include Dalupiri, Camiguin, Dibay, and Dilam in Calayan Island.
“Pictures of politicians and other known icons are not allowed,” she said.
Moreno added that entries must be in high definition digital format with a minimum of 300dpi resolution in RAW and JPEG format only to be encrypted in a RAR File.
She said all entries must be sent to cagayantourismoffice@gmail.com or at the Facebook private message of Cagayan Tourism Office.
She said the participants can submit one or more photos in each category.
Moreno said that digitally enhanced photographs, altered or manipulated or applied with special effects will be disqualified.
She said that all participants must need to fill-up the registration form which can be downloaded at the FB page of the Cagayan Tourism Office and are also required to include a short description of their entries. Gene Baquiran/PIA
