TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Police have identified the woman who was found decapitated in Aritao town in Nueva Vizcaya province on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
In a report, Police Chief Inspector Joberman Videz, Aritao town police chief, said the victim was identified as certain Mary Quiray, 34, and a resident of Dupax Del Sur town.
Quiray’s body was discovered headless and decomposing under a bamboo tree in Barangay Kirang, Aritao. Her head was later found not far away from her body.
Videz said husband of Quiray came to the police station to confirm the identity of beheaded victim.
He said the husband, identified as Roger Quiray, in a sworn statement, told the investigators that Quiray went to Aritao on December 16 to pay a debt at a credit cooperative.
Roger said her wife has a P20,000 cash and cellphones, but neither of them was recovered from her in the crime scene.
Police are now seeing hold-up as possible motive in the killing. -Northernforum.net
