Cagayan Gov optimistic against COVID-19

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – “Very optimistic naman ako from 18,000 PUMs, 545 nalang ang PUMs at siyam ang PUI”, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said today April 15, 2020.

After the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was extended, the Provincial Government of Cagayan has followed all protocols to decrease the casualties brought by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (CoVid-19).

Gov. Mamba also said that there is only one CoVid-19 patient admitted at Cagayan Valley Medical Center as to latest.

Meanwhile, Mamba also said that the provincial government has distributed five kilograms of rice, five sachets of noodles to more than 300,000 households in the province. “Ang kuwenta ko po ay mag i-spend tayo ng more or less P50-60 million”, he added.

“The assistance is being delivered through the Local Chief Executives of every municipality and city in the province”, Mamba said.

However, he also expressed his sentiments that the normal will not be the new normal as the effect of the pandemic to all will change the people.

In addition, according to reports, Mamba was said to be the most strict governor in Cagayan Valley due to his Executive Order no. 15, allowing only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) to access in the province.

According to Mamba’s statement on APOR, “Binabalaan ang sinumang susuway o lalabag sa kautusang ito ay mahaharap sa karampatang parusa batay sa umiiral na batas”.

Furthermore, he also asked personnel manning the checkpoints to strictly implement APOR to make sure that no carrier of #CoVid19 will transmit it in the province.

Mamba urged the public to stay at home and follow protocols.
