TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Authorities have arrested two individuals for selling overpriced medical supplies in San Mateo, Isabela yesterday, April 8, 2020.
In a police report, the arrested suspects are from Echague and San Mateo, Isabela.
Police Regional Office 02 Director PBGen. Angelito Casimiro said that the police conducted the operation at around eight in the morning same date, at Brgy. Sinamar San Mateo, Isabela with Department of Trade and Industry, and Food and Drug Administration.
Casimiro also said that the items includes one hundred eighteen (118) gallons of 70% solution Isopropyl Alcohol and seven (7) gallons of 70% solution ethyl alcohol with a total of 125 gallons (without price tag) at Php 900.00 per gallon in excess of the suggested retail price of Php 520.00 set by the Departnent of Health.
In addition, the authorities confiscated 118 gallons of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, seven gallons of 70% Ethyl Alcohol with brand name ALCOH, five pieces of genuine one hundred peso bill marked money, and Php112,000.00 bundle of boodle money in different domination.
Meanwhile, Casimiro said that the cases that will be filed to the suspect are Violation of RA 758 (Price Act), RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines) and RA 3720 (Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act) are being prepared for filing against the said suspects.
