TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Warren Gaspar Tolito said on Monday, February 5, he will review efforts of police stations in the province if they have responded to Cagayan Valley Police Director Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino’s call for beat patrol plan system and intensified street patrolling.
“Bali mina-mano-mano ko rin yung mga chief of police natin. Gusto kong rebyuhin yung mga ginawa ng chief of police natin kung yung instruction ni RD ay nasunod,” he said.
On Wednesday, January 31, Director Espino ordered the return of a police beat system which tasks police to patrol in designated areas and ensure total police visibility.
Tolito said Tuguegarao City is “definitely” a priority in their efforts to increase police presence and patrol. CPPO will also focus on crime prone areas.
Cagayan police would then deal with growing highly-urbanized areas such as Solana, Penablanca, Tuao, and Aparri.
Tolito earlier said it is “high time” to implement the beat patrol system.
“Sa atin naman, talagang gagawin natin yan. I think sa mga ganitong kasleng change of command is an opportunity to revitalize to serve…and coming up with another idea on how we deal this one. It’s an adjustment really to address criminality sa area,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police director said he may tap again police force multipliers only if they have successfully organize police officers and the beat patrol system. Northernforum.net
